Objects streaking across the sky or down can be any number of things, but there are very few things that zoom up from the Earth. A Missouri man has photos of a strange object zooming up into the sky and it also includes something else that is odd.

One of the newest reports to the UFO National Reporting Center comes from a man in Lee's Summit, Missouri. His report says he witnessed this on April 12, 2025 and that the details were just posted in early May. He said that as he was looking to the east from Lee's Summit, he saw an object flying up and curving rapidly in what he describes as .3 seconds. He also noted that it appeared that the first object had another object emerging from it or being pulled upward behind it, too.

He was able to grab his phone camera and snap pictures of it that you can see for yourself.

What could this object zooming up into the sky from Lee's Summit be?

There are some possible explanations, but none would seem to match up with what he has described. A weather balloon does move upward and might look like it has an object being pulled behind it as the NWS has data boxes attached to them to measure atmospheric things, but they don't move nearly that fast. It could be a rocket, but those launches don't normally happen in Missouri or even near the state. No plane I'm aware of has a fast trajectory that can match the speed of what he described.

It will be interesting to see if there are any military reports that come out to reveal what this Lee's Summit man saw and took pictures of. It's yet another strange sky sight over Missouri.
