7 Missouri School Districts Were Just Given a D for Academics
D isn't really that bad of a grade is what I used to tell my parents. They weren't buying it. The truth is it's barely a passing grade, but that's just what 7 Missouri school districts were just given when rated for academics.
No, I'm not the one doing the grading in case you were wondering. This is a brand new updated ranking from Niche which measures schools in a number of categories. They rate teachers, sports, diversity and other topics, but for the sake of simplicity I wanted to know just about academics. I was surprised to see 7 school districts with the worst possible rating.
- Normandy School District - St. Louis, Missouri
- Madison C-III School District - Madison, Missouri
- Riverview Gardens School District - St. Louis, Missouri
- Bosworth R-V School District - Bosworth, Missouri
- Missouri School for the Blind - St. Louis, Missouri
- Missouri School for the Deaf - Fulton, Missouri
- Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled - Jefferson City, Missouri
I am suspicious of these grades so let's allow for some possibilities. I have to wonder since this is a brand new ranking if there isn't some lack of data from the schools and/or school districts that results in some being dropped to the bottom of the rankings and grades. Especially considering the last 3 are very specialized schools made for kids with unique needs.
