You will often hear about cities that talk about how much they're growing. You'll rarely hear any town bragging about how many residents have moved away. Sadly, there are 10 Missouri places that have seen the largest population loss since their peak.

I decided to query the internet databases for the most recent numbers to determine which Missouri cities were growing and which ones weren't. According to Declining Cities, here are the 10 places in Missouri seeing the biggest population loss in the state.

The good news is that a few of those places have started to see a turnaround in crime numbers and economic factors. So far, that has not led to many residents decided to move back in. If that ever happens, it will take time before the narrative of loss changes to one of growth. Let's hope that these Missouri metros and towns can make that happen sooner rather than later.
