Missouri Ghost Town Isn’t as Empty as It Seems
A Missouri town whose existence began in 1830 is a shadow of its former self, but this is one ghost town that isn't as empty as it might first seem.
Dark Exploration Films on YouTube just shared their recent visit to Richwoods, Missouri. It's an unincorporated community that's located to the southwest of St. Louis, Missouri. Wikipedia says it was named for the thick forest that surrounded the town. It's nowhere near its heyday, but the latest census says there are still more than 1,700 people that call Richwoods home.

According to Niche, a vast majority of the small population of Richwoods, Missouri own their own homes. There's even a school in Richwoods that allows education through the 8th grade. After that's completed, students have the option of traveling to Potosi, Grandview, Kingston, DeSoto, St. Clair, or Sullivan. It's one of the many communities in Missouri that may seem nearly vacant if you drive through it, but there are many that still call it home and wouldn't want it any other way.
