Has your Missouri home been enveloped in what feels like a ladybug invasion the last few weeks? Ours sure has, but these irritating bugs are really just fakers.

I wish I had a nickel for every ladybug pretender that I've offed over the past two weeks. I've seriously lost track. The truth is that my fury isn't really directed at ladybugs, but their doppelgangers that we lovingly call "fakers". They're really Asian Lady Beetles.

This is truly a case of good versus evil. Ladybugs are really harmless. The Asian Lady Beetles are not. Everyone that I've chased from our Missouri home has either flown into my face and/or bitten me. We don't have dogs, but these ladybug wannabes are harmful to dogs and other pets.

Please don't get angry at me, PETA, but I don't gently escort these nasty bugs outside so they can live their best life when I get rid of them. This is probably just me being petty, but they also leave behind nasty remains when I...(*ahem*)...evacuate them from living.

The good news is that once the cold weather arrives and stays here, these nasty pretender bugs will go back into hiding until it's time to return to irritate me next Fall. Oh, joy.
