Weather Service Warns: Dangerous Cold Coming Soon to Missouri
Missouri really hasn't had a serious cold snap so far this Fall that's lasted for long. The National Weather Service is now warning that a dangerous cold is coming soon to Missouri and you won't be waiting long before you experience it.
I saw the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri share an interesting story today not about Thanksgiving (which is interesting on its own), but what is incoming to the state after the Thanksgiving holiday.
This is their 8 to 14 day extended outlook for Missouri which shows a real dangerous cold that's expected to impact the state starting November 29.
The weather service is saying there is a very high probability (70 to 80% chance) that you'll need to make sure you protect your plumbing and make sure to dress in layers between November 29 through December 5. Not just colder temperatures than we've been experiencing which have been somewhat mild, but much lower than normal late November and early December temps.
The NOAA Climate Prediction Center agrees with what the National Weather Service in St. Louis is saying as they are also forecasting much below normal temperatures for 8 to 14 days into the future from late November into early December.
You might as well mentally prepare now for the temperatures to finally bring us a hard freeze. The arrival of that reality appears to be not that far down the road for all of Missouri now.
