Someone just stopped at a Missouri gas station this week and made a life-changing decision that they don't realize just changed their life. They're $237,000 richer, but don't seem to be aware of their good fortune - literally.

Does this gas station/convenience store in Missouri look familiar to you?

This is the QuikTrip located at 655 S. Highway 291 in Liberty, Missouri. According to the Missouri Lottery, someone stopped by here on Monday, July 20, 2026 and picked up a Show Me Cash ticket. The numbers on that ticket were 18-29-30-31-35. The person left the premises not realizing that they had a ticket that's now worth $237K. I'm assuming they left this store not knowing they had a huge winner since this prize is located on the Missouri Lottery Unclaimed Prizes site.

How much is a $237,000 Missouri Lottery ticket worth after taxes?

Here's the breakdown:

  • Gross Prize Amount: $237,000
  • Federal Tax Withholding (24%): -$56,880
  • Missouri State Tax Withholding (4%): -$9,480
  • Total Initial Tax Withheld: $66,360
  • Estimated Net Take-Home Check: $170,640

Keep in mind that I'm a radio goon and not an accountant or anyone who's giving financial advice. Everyone's tax situation is different, but that's a big payday for someone no matter what their real take-home amount would be. Let's hope the winner knows they're a winner and are just getting their ducks in a row before they claim this amazing lottery prize.
