There is never a good time to lose a job, but early in the year would have to especially be a challenge. According to a document submitted to the state of Missouri, a manufacturing facility is planning mass layoffs that will affect many soon.
The Missouri Jobs website shows a new WARN notice was just posted on January 27, 2025 for Eaton - Bussmann in Ellisville, Missouri. According to their website, they manufacture fuses which "play a major role in industrial or commercial facilities by providing reliable, maximum protection to power systems."
How many will lose their jobs and when?
The Missouri WARN notice says that 57 will be laid off effective at the end of April, 2025 with another round at the end of June, 2025.
Why the layoffs now?
KSDK in St. Louis is reporting that Eaton-Bussmann says there are "changes in our operations at the site".
It is unclear if the 57 will lose their jobs at the end of April or the end of June deadlines in the WARN notice. There is also no word at this time if these layoffs will be temporary or permanent.
