U.S. Marshals Arrest Woman Wanted in 2020 Fatal Missouri Crash

She had allegedly been in hiding for more than 5 years after she was wanted on manslaughter charges after a fatal accident. The US Marshals just located her and found she had been living at different addresses using many aliases.

The United States Marshals just released details a few days ago about their search for Jiya Thomas-Felix who was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter connected to a fatal crash that happened in December of 2020. They say that the St. Louis County Police Department reported Thomas Felix was driving a vehicle at a high rate of speed, lost control, and crashed, killing two people, including a 12-year-old boy, her nephew.

The warrant for her arrest had been active for more than 5 years when the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office requested the help of the US Marshals to find her. According to their statement, the US Marshals were able to obtain warrants that pointed them to multiple potential residences. She was allegedly using an alias that used her sister's information according to investigators. Information from a rideshare that the Marshals obtained a warrant for was apparently key to locating her whereabouts.

The US Marshals are one of the most effective law enforcement agencies in locating fugitives and suspects on the run. This newest arrest will help bring justice to a sad tragedy that had awaited closure for more than a half decade.
