Plant Closure to Cost 86 Illinois Jobs This Summer
This is the reason it's always a good idea to make sure your resume is up-to-date. A new report submitted to the state of Illinois says a plant closure will happen in July and it will cost 86 workers their jobs when it happens.
The latest in a long line of WARN notices submitted to the state of Illinois recently says that a facility in Lombard, Illinois will be closing in July. It states that Demar Direct located at 1133 N Ridge Ave in Lombard, Illinois will be laying off 86 workers effective July 7, 2025 due to a "plant closure".
The official website says that the company specializes in direct mail and marketing campaigns, but they also offer turn-key printing services. It's unclear if that might be part of their business that will be affected by this closure and layoff or not. It's also not clear as of the date of this writing if the layoffs might be temporary or if workers will be given the opportunity to transfer within the company.
This new layoff notice brings the total number of workers who have lost their jobs in Illinois in the past 30 days to over 1,200 with more than 5,500 unemployed in the last 90 days and more than 16,000 in the last 12 months alone.
