Watch a Missouri Driver Jump Out of Moving Car Sliding on Ice
I'm not criticizing because I'm not sure how I would respond to a situation like this, but I'm pretty sure this is not the recommended way of dealing with a vehicle on ice. A wild video shows a Missouri driver that jumped out of a moving car sliding on ice in the recent storm.
I saw this video shared by Mr Tow on Facebook/Meta. This happened a couple days ago in the Kansas City area when ice made nearly all roadways treacherous.
The good news is it does not appear the driver or anyone else was injured in this incident and the name of the driver was not given (and I would not include it even if they did). It's just a great example of how not to respond to a vehicle that is in a dead slide and out of control on ice. The driver was more likely to be injured by jumping out of the vehicle not to mention the danger to other drivers dealing with an unmanned car.
Last weekend's winter storm brought a nearly unprecedented amount of ice to the middle part of Missouri and the chaos started in Kansas. So fortunate that this driver didn't have a more tragic outcome from this slippery predicament.
UPDATE: Fox 4 in Kansas City spoke with the girl that jumped out of the sliding car.
