John Funke Memorial Mart Heinen Club Chili Cook-Off is January 27

It looks like January is going to be a snowy and cold month which means it is time to make some wonderful chili to warm up to. So have at it this weekend, but then save your appetite because the John Funke Memorial Mart Heinen Club's Annual Chili Cook-off will be held next weekend (January 27) in Quincy. The 30th annual Chili Cook-off will take place at the Quincy University's Health & Fitness Center.  The event is open to the public and will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature all you can eat chili and soup tasting.

Food tickets are $5 and raffle tickets will also be sold for a chance to win a 50” TV, a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and an All-in-One speaker.

The Mart Heinen Club is also offering you the opportunity to purchase $50 tickets for the 18^th Annual Cash Bash drawing featuring $8,500 in prize money including the top prize of $5,000. There are 21 chances to win cash prizes. A purchase of that ticket will also get you into the Chili Cook-off at no charge.

The Cash Bash tickets are available for purchase at the Quincy University Athletic Office and will NOT be available at the door of the Chili Cook-off.  For more info, call 228-5290.
