There are two things you need to know. First of all, this is not an April Fool's joke. Second, this is also not an official forecast - yet. But, there an experimental model from the forecasters that does show a strong possibility that Missouri could see dangerous storm development on Monday, April 1.

I saw this interesting Missouri weather possibility shared by the Max Velocity (great weather name) YouTube channel. He discussed what the CIPS Experimental Analog-Based Severe Weather Guidance from the National Weather Service says could happen starting this weekend and the first week of April.

First, he said there is a chance that there could be some storms on Sunday, March 31, 2024, but he thinks the cap (atmospheric limitations on storm development) could prevent storms on Sunday. Monday is something else entirely. This is what Monday, April 1, 2024 looks like with Missouri being in the crosshairs for high likelihood of strong storm development.

Tuesday, April 2, 2024 appears like it could be stormy and wet, too with this showing possible precipitation development.

He emphasizes that this is not NOAA Storm Prediction Center's official forecast or even an advanced advisory. It's an experimental tool that treats models similar to what their severe storm outlook would produce.

This is not to say there absolutely will be storms in Missouri on Monday, April 1, 2024. What it does mean is that it would be a good idea to watch the beginning of April closely in Missouri when/if storms do begin to develop.

Consider this just an advance heads up that April could start very excitable in Missouri.

UPDATE: March 28, 2024 - 2:24pm. Now the National Weather Service in Springfield is speaking up about the severe weather possibilities on Monday, too.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis is also now talking about potential severe weather Monday, too.
