Is the Best Restaurant in Missouri actually a Deli?
Deciding on where to eat in the Show-Me State is a hard task, there are thousands of brilliant restaurants, but maybe the best spot isn't a restaurant but a deli!
The great website called onlyinyourstate.com put together a list of the 18 Best Restaurants in Missouri, and at the top of their list is a place called the Blues City Deli in St. Louis. In fact, four of the top 18 restaurants on their list (to see the entire list click here!) are from St. Louis, while there are also four restaurants from Kansas City as well. Now the website doesn't go into too much detail about why Blues City Deli, located at 2438 McNair Ave, St. Louis, MO 63104, USA, is at the top of their list but I went to the deli's restaurant and quickly figured out why.
The website for Blues City Deli is simply bluescitydeli.com and they are only open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. And on their website they simply say...
"We’ve been cranking out St. Louis’ Finest Po-Boy’s and Muffuletta’s for a few years now, and I invite you to come join us. You’ll see our menu is a tip of the hat to many of the blues music cities on the “Blues Highway”. Stop by, have a Po-Boy, an order of Red Bean’s and Rice, try an Old Fashioned Soda or an Ice Cold Beer, and listen to some of the best blues music you’ll ever hear."
Their menu looks absolutely loaded with incredible choices from Uncle Sam's Club sandwich to the Big Tommy, there are some incredible sounding sandwiches.
How come no one has told me about this place before? I have been asking people in the Quincy/Hannibal area for the nearly 3 years I have lived here for great restaurant recommendations in St. Louis, and maybe you have all heard of this place but it was me who was asking the wrong question because this ain't a restaurant it's a Deli, and I CAN'T WAIT to try it!
