The 2015 Illinois Trout Fishing Season begins tomorrow at 5 a.m. in the Land of Lincoln. Every year the Illinois Department of Natural Resources stocks ponds, lakes and streams throughout the state with rainbow trout.

This year there were some new areas that were stocked by IDNR including Kings Park Pond in Pittsfield and Morgan Lake in Jacksonville. Siloam Springs State Park, east of Quincy, was also stocked by the IDNR.

To catch trout, you must have a valid Illinois fishing license with a trout stamp as well. The daily catch limit is five trout. To get a license, go to www.dnr.illinois.gov.
