What started as a normal traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Illinois quickly escalated to something else altogether. Illinois State Police found 10,000 grams of cocaine in a semi-tractor trailer.

This press release from the Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police include some staggering numbers. It says that on January 18, 2025, an officer stopped a semi on Interstate 80 eastbound east of E. 1600th Street in Henry County, Illinois. It was a probably cause search that led to the arrest of 55-year-old Jose J. Guillen of Ontario, California. They allegedly found 10,000 grams of cocaine in his truck. As a result, he has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of Cocaine (Class 1 Felony)
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (Class X Felony)
  • Cocaine Trafficking (Class X Felony)

They emphasize for a good reason that charges don't mean guilt, but at the very least someone has some explaining to do.

The Illinois State Police say that Jose J. Guillen is being held in the Henry County Jail at this time.
