Go Banking Rates recently released their 2023 list for the richest small towns in each state. For the Land of Lincoln, it's this tiny community tucked into the western part of the Chicago area.

Only just over 4,000 residents call Kildeer home because it's costly to live there. Go Banking Rates says the average income of people there is over $226,000. Oh, and it's a gorgeous place to live, too. Trees, trees everywhere.

Egret Marsh Nature Preserve and Heron Creek Forest Preserve are both part of Kildeer, Illinois. That's what makes Lake County such a nice place for those that love nature (and living near the big city).
