Illinois Alert: Fake Cell Phone Towers May Be Tracking You

At the risk of sounding overly paranoid, I need to pass along a warning to you that you may or may not care about. There's a better than average chance that if you live in Illinois, you're probably being spied on by fake cell phone towers and I think I can prove it.

There is a new report from Straight Arrow News (aka SAN) that says fake cell phone towers are believed to have been used by ICE to spy on protestors in Portland. How can they know? They have a device that measures how frequently a cell phone tower identifies IMSI phone identification. They say that for a normal real cell phone tower, that only happens about 3% of the time. In Portland, there were towers that gathered that info as frequently as 14% of the time.

While authorities are denying fake cell phone tower use, there are many experts in the field that believe they've proven that illegitimate towers have been used by the feds in the past and there's no reason to believe that they wouldn't do the same for the massive protests that are happening in Illinois and especially the Chicagoland area.

After watching a documentary about a very famous intelligence whistleblower and learning the different ways our government keeps an eye on us, I always assume I'm being watched. I figure that is one way to never be disappointed as it's likely to happen sooner or later.
