I didn’t count them, but my guess is that at least 40% of the drivers I saw were on their phone going through the intersection at 25th and Broadway.

I recently received an email from U.S. Cellular with tips on what to do in the event your phone gets wet. The email included the following.

It was right after I got off work Friday and I was driving on Broadway in Quincy and came to a red light at 18th Street. The SUV next to me was waiting for the green arrow. I glanced over and saw the driver on her cell phone sending a text message with her children in the car with her.

I took a weird phone call this morning and it was quite interesting. While on the air, the phone at Y101 was ringing and ringing. I finally got to answer it and said the usual opening line when answering a phone call, "Hello". I said it again and then a third time and still got not reply but I didn't hang up.

When cell phones first came out it was usually the parents who had them. As they became cheaper to buy, with family packages and all that, the children in the family became owners of their own cell phones. That has all led to the question of at what age do you give your child his or her first cell phone?
