This past weekend Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced a plan to aid Illinoisans who are struggling with coping with the constant barrage of bad news as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is extending tele-health services and mental health support for those in need.

There is a major concern about the emotional ramifications suffered by people concerned about Coronavirus, their loss of jobs, and their being relegated to staying constantly in their homes.

If you are feeling the stress of these time the Illinois Department of Human Services has set up a free emotional support text line. Simply test the word "TALK" to 552020 (HABLAR in Spanish). Your test will go to one of 62 community health centers in the state where a health professional will contact you back.

The closest center to our area is the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Quincy. To reach them, call (217) 545-5100.
