
FBI: Illinois Man Robbed 5 Financial Institutions – Gets 7+ Years
Someone in Illinois will now have more than 7 years in federal prison to think about their life after pleading guilty to involvement in the robbing of 5 different financial institutions.
The FBI in Chicago recently shared an update on their social media sites about a man in Illinois who had just been sentenced to 7 years and 8 months in prison for his role in the robbery of 4 Illinois banks and 1 credit union.
Charles Lawler, 54, of Villa Park, Illinois pled guilty to the robbery of these 5 Illinois financial institutions:
- Sept. 22, 2021: Lawler robbed BMO Harris Bank in Naperville, Ill.
- Sept. 28, 2021: Lawler and Lee robbed Old Second Bank in Lisle, Ill.
- Oct. 6, 2021: Lawler and Lee robbed Bank Financial in Westmont, Ill.
- Jan. 3, 2022: Lawler and Lee robbed BMO Harris Bank in Woodridge, Ill.
- April 14, 2022: Lawler and Lee robbed DuPage Credit Union in Downers Grove, Ill.
The Northern District of Illinois of the United States Attorney's Office shared a press release detailing that Mr. Lawler had pled guilty to the charges and was just sentenced to 7 years and 8 months in federal prison. Tarandle Lee, 54, of Bolingbrook, Illinois was also convicted of 4 robbery convictions including the role of a getaway driver for Mr. Lawler. Lee's sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
