Surprise Job Cuts Hit 150 at Illinois Manufacturer

If you have a stable job, here's another reason to be thankful as 150 in Illinois just learned they're about to be jobless according to a notice just submitted to the state.

The Illinois Work Net Center has been quiet for the past couple of weeks which is a good thing. That's where WARN notices are posted when an employer notifies the state of Illinois of layoff events that are about to happen. Unfortunately, that quiet period is over as there's another notice that many Illinois workers are about to be job hunting. This new posting says that IG Design Group Americas, Inc. located at 21350 SW Frontage Road in Shorewood, Illinois is about to let 150 workers go in what is described as a "mass layoff". The first layoff date provided is August 26, 2025.

The official company website says they "designs, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of products for celebrations, gifting, stationery, craft, and creative play". There is no confirmation at this time if the layoffs that have just been announced at this Illinois location are temporary or permanent or if workers will be allowed to transfer to other locations in the company.
