If You Bought A Laptop or Cell Phone in the 2000s, You Could See A Share of $45 Million
If you purchased a product that runs on lithium ion batteries (such as a cell phone, laptop, or power tool), you might be eligible for a portion of a $45 million class action settlement.
To be eligible, you must have made the purchase during this century but prior to May 31, 2011. Proof of purchase is not required to file a claim. The deadline to apply is November 29, 2017 and final payout amounts depend on the number of valid claims filed and the number of products purchased.
That being said, maybe I shouldn’t be telling you about it. Because I’m sure I made a couple of cell phone and laptop purchased during that stretch and I want that money all to myself!
Oh well, too late now.
