It's going to be a VERY big year for Hannibal as they celebrate their bicentennial. They've announced several events and celebrations, and there's one scheduled for this summer that you won't want to miss.

On June 15, the city is hosting a Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival begins that Saturday evening two hours prior to sunset and runs into the night as the balloons will light up the night sky. The event continues Sunday morning with a balloon launch during the first two hours after sunrise. Additional details will be released as the date nears.

I've been to balloon glows in Quincy and they are a lot of fun. It's always very cool to see the hot air balloons up close (and the kiddos seem to love it too).

The balloon festival is one of several events scheduled for this year. In fact, there are more than 100 bicentennial events listed on hannibal2019.com so there will be plenty to see and do in and around America's hometown in 2019. For more information, CLICK HERE.
