It was the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month when World War One finally came to an end.  It was called Armistice Day and still is by some people although most people call it  now.  Monday, in honor of Veterans Day, the Illinois Veterans’ Home in Quincy will hold its Annual Veterans Day Program at Lippincott Hall.

The program on Monday will begin at 10 a.m. and will end with a 21 Gun Salute and the playing of Taps at 11 a.m. The featured speaker will be Dr. Jennifer Pritts, retired Captain of the United States Army.  The Quincy Senior High School Blue Devil Band will also be preforming patriotic music during the event.

I have been honored to be asked to be the master of ceremonies for the event again and am very proud to be able to do so. This event is open to all in the area.
