Illinois Officers Share Laugh-Out-Loud Coyote Warning
I think most of us that have spent any quality time in Illinois would classify coyotes as more of a nuisance than a real danger. That's why I truly appreciate one of the funniest coyote warnings I've seen that was just dropped by a police department in Illinois.
Well played, Chatham, Illinois Police Department. Their warning just shared on their social media pages is timely as we are in the middle of coyote pup-rearing season which makes these varmints more visible especially in Illinois. Behold their genius Facebook share about watching out for coyotes.
As of this writing, there are more than 900 shares and 3,400 likes for this hilarious Illinois coyote warning. I will add that coyotes can be dangerous if you have small pets. While many say this is just an old farmer's tale, I have heard stories of coyotes luring out small pets to places where the pack can do away with them. When my family rented a place in rural Illinois a few years ago, we regularly saw and heard coyotes. You haven't truly lived until you've had a bunch of these dog pretenders running around in a circle and howling like their lives depended on it while you're trying to get to sleep. Truth is stranger than fiction. I certainly didn't have as good a sense of humor as the Chatham, Illinois Police Department when it happened, though.
