The Quincy Symphony Orchestra is bringing some of your favorite movie soundtracks to life through a magical (and kid-friendly) evening of storytelling and live music.

In their November 18th "Heroes & Heroines" Family Concert, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra will play the soundtracks to everything from Star Wars to Justice League to a classic Disney medley. Making the evening even more memorable is that musicians themselves will be dressed up as superheroes and princesses, adding to the excitement and atmosphere of the night.

Children who attend are encouraged to come in their favorite superhero or princess costume and they'll have the opportunity to take pictures with make believe superheroes and princesses as well as real life heroes including area firefighters.

There will also be fun kids activities including a chance for children to see the instruments up close and learn more about music from the area's top musicians.

Tickets for the concert are $18 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, and free for children 18 and under. Advance tickets can be purchased at Quincy Hy-Vee stores, Country Market in Canton, Sturhahn Jewelers or at the Symphony Office at 200 N. 8th St. You can also get tickets at the door.

This is a great way to get children inspired by music, art, and fun. For more information about  Heroes & Heroines click on the qsoq.org website or find them on Facebook.
