There is a new shop named after Quincy and this Friday it will be christened and you can tour the ship after the ceremony.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has invited the community to see the new ship be christened this Friday, April 30, at 12 PM. After the ceremony, you will be about to tour the ship until 4 PM, and there will be park rangers on hand to answer any questions you may have.

If you plan on touring the new ship you are asked to wear a face mask and have the proper shoes (closed-toe). I have seen the ship and it looks to beautiful, at first, I thought the dock was there as part of the bridge renovations, but turns out its just there for the new ship to be christened on Friday. How cool is it too that Quincy has a boat named after it? I am going to try and make it to the ceremony on Friday, I’ve never seen a ship get a sendoff I think it would be kinda neat to be a part of. It's not like we live next to an ocean or anything.

If you have time this Friday, get out and experience christening, you never know when there will be another one.
