Here Are Several ‘Day-Trip’ Ideas to Just Get Away
As evidenced by the recent Dogwood Parade, people just want to get out and go someplace after a very long pandemic 2020 year. So where does one go?
There are plenty of places throughout the United States to visit, but sometimes just a day trip will satisfy one’s eagerness to just “get-away” even for just a few hours and not be that far from home. I would call it “traveler’s baby steps” before that long journey to places like Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, or Disneyworld.
With that in mind, here is a “day trip” list of places to visit this summer:

Wildwood Prairie Animal Park in Hanna City, Illinois….…...wildwoodwildlifepark.com
Peoria Chiefs Minor League Baseball in Peoria, Illinois...............peoriachiefs.com

There is a list of just 13 locations, all within 3 or four hours of our area. And don’t forget there are plenty of other locations right here in the Hannibal-Quincy area to visit as well.
Remember, no matter where you go, check ahead to make sure they are open as plenty of things have changed thanks to the pandemic. Enjoy your trip!
