Road Trip: Huge Splash Pad in Missouri’s Burrus Old Mill Park
With all the kids in my family, I'm always up for a good road trip idea that includes something entertaining for them. I think I found a unique option in a huge splash pad that is now a part of Missouri's Burrus Old Mill Park.
Kudos to Only In Your State for this road trip idea starter. They shared some pics of a relatively new splash pad that has been built into the park and I found a video, too.
It has a jungle-themed playground designed for kids age 5 to 12. Wonder if the fact that I haven't advanced much mentally since age 12 would allow me to play on it? Guessing no.
The good news is that Burrus Old Mill Park is only about a 3 hour day trip from the tri-state area located near Blue Springs to the east of Kansas City.
The exact address is Burrus Old Mill Park, 112 NW Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015 if you'd like to map it in your phone. I don't think I would necessarily day trip to Burrus Old Mill Park alone, but with all of the other options near Kansas City that you could potentially schedule with the trip, it would seem that there would be more than a few ways to entertain your family for a day. Maybe do this next time the St. Louis Cardinals play the Kansas City Royals in KC? Hmm. Let's put a check in that box.
