What would you do if you just found out that you were more than $250,000 richer? That's the reality for someone who stopped at a gas mart in Hazelwood, Missouri this past week, but their identity remains a mystery.
This is the unassuming gas station located at 6025 Howdershell Road in Hazelwood, Missouri
The Missouri Lottery says that on March 14, 2026, someone picked up a Show Me Cash ticket there with the numbers 23-34-36-37-39 which ended up being worth a whopping $274,000! It's only been a few days since this ticket was picked up, but as of the time of this writing, this humongous prize is still on the Missouri Lottery Unclaimed Prizes site.
What happens if no one claims this Missouri Lottery prize?
The good news is the winner has until September 10, 2026 to contact the Missouri Lottery and claim more than a quarter million dollars. The bad news (for them) is that if they don't claim it by then, that prize money goes into the Missouri Lottery Education Fund.
What's the take-home cash from a $274,000 Missouri Lottery win?
According to an online lottery tax calculator, the lump sum after taxes would be $197,280 after state and federal taxes are taken out. At least it's not that FICA guy who's always getting money out of your paycheck.
