Hannibal’s Bicentennial Features Major Blues Bash
Another major score on the music scene is coming to Hannibal, this time it's a blues chart-topper. Victor Wainwright and The Train will take the spotlight at a concert on Saturday, August 24.
Wainwright and the Train's self-titled album debuted at #1 on the Blues Billboard Chart. They earned a Grammy nomination this year for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
Wainwright's brand of blues is in high-energy style. Blues Magazine calls it, "Boogie-woogie barrel-house keyboards and driving pedal-to-the-metal blues delivered with power, drive and enormous quality and talent."
The concert is part of the on-going Bicentennial Celebration in Hannibal. It's one of 196 events on this year's calendar, which is a pretty amazing feat.
The concert will be at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24 at Hannibal's Tanyard Gardens at 320 S. 3rd St. You can buy tickets at www.visithannibal.com.
