The Audrain County Sheriff’s Department reports a deputy observed a motorcycle southbound on Highway 19 near Laddonia that did not have valid registration.

A chase ensued, continued south into Montgomery County on 19, then onto a rural Montgomery County, where the chase ended when the motorcycle crashed, coming to rest in a corn field.

The driver of the bike, 32 year old Jackie Bartlow II of Hannibal, was arrested for failure to display valid plates, driving with a suspended or revoked license and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

His passenger, 32 year old Patience Pax of Bowling Green, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Lincoln County.

Bartlow is in the Audrain County Jail pending the filing of formal charges. Pax is in the Montgomery County Jail.

No one was injured in the chase, although an Audrain County patrol car did suffer minor damage.

The Audrain County Sheriff's Office expressed its thanks to the Montgomery County Sheriff and his staff, along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, for their assistance, as well as the Montgomery County Ambulance District for their response to the scene to check on motorists and deputies involved.
