The Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House is one of the area's most popular Halloween attractions. It's a lot of fun to visit, as long as you can handle the scares! Of course, that leaves out younger kids, which is why the haunted house is going to have a special "lights on" hour on Halloween.

"This hour will feature a tamed down version of the scares for the kids or even those adults too scared to enter it during normal business hours," said the Hannibal Jaycees in a Facebook post. "Don't worry, we won't tell your friends."

The "lights on" event will be from 6-7 p.m. on Saturday (Halloween). Admission will be just $5 during the special hour. The haunted house will then operate as usual from 7:30-midnight. Admission during regular hours is $10.

The Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House is at 320 South Third Street (the same site as Tanyard Gardens during National Tom Sawyer Days). A new attraction in 2015 at the haunted house is the Last Ride, a motion simulator ride that includes a “casket cam” so your family and friends can watch you take your “last ride.” Tickets to the Last Ride are $5. Zombie Paintball is also back for its second year. There is also carnival food, and an opportunity to take a "haunted trolley" that travels between the Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House, the POPS Club Haunted Woods, and Haunted Hollows Haunted Trail in Palmyra.
