It's a little early in the season to harvest from your own garden, but don't worry, other local growers have you covered. This Saturday, May 5 marks the start of the Hannibal Farmers Market in Central Park. You can purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, bakery items and other handmade goods. Area Amish communities typically display their wares and it's a popular spot for customers.

The start of the Farmers Market coincides with the Salt River Master Gardeners Annual Plant Sale, also in Central Park. That's where you can find starter plants for your garden, plus annual and perennial flowers.

The Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Hannibal's Central Park.
