The Best (of the Worst) 1-Star Reviews of Missouri’s Gateway Arch
I've learned the hard way that you can't please everyone and that's true even if you're an iconic American landmark. I've collected some of the best 1-star reviews of Missouri's beloved Gateway Arch.
It's also true that everyone has a bad day. That could be true of the tour guides at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri and/or the visitors that go there. It's actually a compliment to the Arch and the National Park Service staff that out of over 12,000 reviews on Trip Advisor, only 118 are ranked as 1-star for "terrible".
All that being said, some of these reviews are so harsh I would hate to be on the receiving end of the fury. Here are some highlights. I'm only including the usernames of the reviewers to protect the guilty innocent. Let's start of with a review by Karen Karyn and no, I'm not making this up. She's unhappy with the history lesson she heard.
Flyer would love it if there was an escalator between the parking lot and the Arch apparently.
This next one is very much a good news, bad news thing.
Can someone find us a high school history student than can correct errors?
I think this person is putting us down with backhanded compliments.
So you weren't expecting an arch there?
No, you can't spray the Arch or its staff with pepper spray.
Did you mistakenly leave a 1-star review because you sound pretty happy.
So sorry about your car.
There are many very legitimate complaints about traffic and problems that happened when construction is underway at the Gateway Arch. You can read all of the reviews (positive and negative) on Trip Advisor for yourself.
