This year is the 25th anniversary of the Flood of 1993 and as a result the Fourth of July fireworks will be returning to the Quincy Riverfront. According to a news release from WGEM and the Herald Whig, major sponsors of the event, the celebration will feature the Illinois National Guard Army Band and Guard static displays a well as many other annual favorites that have been a part of the event in past years. The Quincy Park Band will also be performing.

Other major sponsors for the event are Blessing Health System, HyVee Foods, Refreshment Services Pepsi, Gardner Denver and The Knapheide Corporation.

The fireworks display site for years was on the Quincy Riverfront until it moved to The Illinois Veteran’s Home in 2011 in honor of the home’s 125th anniversary.
