For the first time ever, Busch Stadium will turn into an outdoor movie experience.

The gates will open on Friday, July 9 at Busch Stadium for baseball, but not a game, for fans to enjoy a clastic baseball movie "The Rookie."  This will be the first time, and hopefully not the last, that the Cardinals will be opening their stadium for a family night at the ballpark. Gates will open at 6 pm and the movie will start at 7 pm sharp.

Tickets for both standard and VIP are on sale now. Each ticket includes access to the Busch Stadium seats for movie viewing, a voucher for a free hot dog and soft drink, and complimentary parking across from the ballpark in Stadium Lot C.  If you purchase a VIP ticket, you will have access to view the movie from the outfield, and receive a Cardinals-branded picnic blanket (I wonder if you get to keep that). Standard tickets will be $25 for adults and $45 for VIP adult tickets. Children ages 12 and under can be added to each adult ticket for $15 per child. Children ages three and younger will not require a ticket.

Food will not be allowed to being t=into the park, but the concession stand will be open to get your movie snacks. The Rookie stars Dennis Quaid as a Texas baseball coach who makes a bet with his high school team and agrees to try out for a major league team if they make it to the playoffs.

Tickets are available for purchase online, or at the Busch Stadium Box Office.
