The FBI has announced the results of a super-secret operation that's been underway in Missouri for the past year called "Operation Viper". The result is 91 arrests in a concerted effort to reduce violent crime specifically in the St. Louis area.

The FBI in St. Louis just made this announcement on social media about "Operation Viper"

In case you can't see the text of their share, here are the numbers from the ongoing "Operation Viper":

  • 91 arrests to include 45 state fugitives
  • More than $310,000 in cash seized
  • And significant quantities of illegal narcotics seized

The FBI in St. Louis didn't mention the specific agencies that were involved, but it would appear this would be a combination of local St. Louis law enforcement and possibly even the Missouri State Highway Patrol in addition to the massive increase in FBI resources. I would imagine some special task forces were a part of "Operation Viper" also. The end result is outstanding. If you can complete an operation that gets that many suspects off of the streets along with their assets and the huge amount of illegal narcotics, that can only be a good thing.

The question now is how many will be successfully prosecuted. Let's hope the guilty are brought to justice and operations like this can continue to make some of the more dangerous parts of Missouri safer.
