Missouri Employer Voted Best to Work For Isn’t From Missouri?

This is the most ironic thing I've seen so far this year. Sorry for the New Year's Day pun, but even if this happened 9 months from now, it would still have a shot at the irony trophy. The Missouri employer voted the best to work for in the state isn't from Missouri at all.

Millions of people were queried by the website Statistica about the favorite employer in each state. When I saw the company voted the best boss in Missouri, I had to do a double-take to make sure I was looking at the right state.

What employer was voted the best to work for in Missouri?

Answer - The University of Kansas Health System

I know what's going on here. It's no secret that the Kansas City, Missouri area has some excellent health care facilities that are a part of the University of Kansas Health System. I'm not sure about the number of employees that are on the Missouri side of the state line, but it's obviously considerable.

I'm a little surprised that a mid-Missouri or St. Louis area employer couldn't manage to get more votes than a company based out of the great state of Kansas (sorry not sorry for my snark, Jayhawks fans). That being said, congrats to a company who obviously treats their people well for grabbing this nice honor.
