It's ironic that fast food sometimes isn't. If you've sat in a drive-thru for an extended period of time, you know that rings true more often than it doesn't. However, there is one chain who has just been ranked as the fastest drive-thru and they have 140 locations in Missouri.

How long do you expect to spend in a drive-thru?

Intouch Insight put the major fast food chains to the test on a number of issues including the average time customers spend in their drive-thru. I saw Reader's Digest mention that there was one chain that topped the others when it comes to drive-thru speed. The fastest among the 13 largest fast food brands clocked in a relatively fast drive-thru time of 4 minutes and 16 seconds. That's the amount of time spent from the moment they entered the drive-thru until the customer had their food.

Who won the fast food drive-thru race?

The first-place trophy goes to Taco Bell who continue to thrive with 140 Missouri restaurants. The report goes on to say that Taco Bell was also fastest getting customers their food after the order was placed with a time of 3 minutes and 15 seconds. It's worth mentioning that there was a close second place chain with KFC only missing Taco Bell's drive-thru time by 5 seconds with an average of 4 minutes and 21 seconds.

This fast food drive-thru speed test brings back a great memory of when David Letterman took over a Taco Bell drive-thru back in the day. Good times, good times.
