I was born and raised in Missouri so hot summers are certainly no surprise. That's why I'm a bit concerned looking at the new forecast from Farmer's Almanac that says even those used to sweltering summers in Missouri should be prepared for heat punishment.

I always enjoy looking at what Farmer's Almanac thinks will happen when it comes to weather. Since my wife is the smartest meteorologist I know, I usually get funny looks when she sees me checking in with those who use cycle of the moon and historical cycles to decide what the weather will do.

This new summer forecast comes from the Old Farmer's Almanac and not the "new" one. Here's the fun graphic they shared to show what Missouri is in for summer 2025.

How hot does Farmer's Almanac say Missouri's summer will be?

They noted that last summer was one of the hottest on record and summer 2025 would feature "hotter-than-normal temperatures". They say that Missouri's average summer temperatures will be at least 4 degrees hotter than normal. Whew.

The other troubling aspect of their forecast is the mention of extraordinarily dry. Considering how much of Missouri has battled severe drought conditions the past couple of years, another hot and dry summer is not what's needed for the fields and my farmer friends.

Punishing is a great way to sum up what summer will be like in Missouri once it gets rolling in June.
