There are two things you should know. First, I was born skeptical. Second, I am no weather expert. Those two things are colliding as I've found a prediction about a surprise blizzard incoming to Illinois in the not too distant future, but I am beyond skeptical.

This is no small potatoes outfit that is saying Illinois could be in for a weather event. It's the winter weather forecast from Farmer's Almanac. They say that Illinois is in for what they describe as "frequent bouts of heavy precipitation, as well as strong and gusty winds" and they even name the days they expect it to happen:

"January 20 to 23 and 24 to 27, 2025"

They go on to elaborate that these storm systems impacting Illinois will include "copious amounts of snow, rain, sleet, and ice".

Do I believe that Illinois will really have a blizzard the last couple weeks of January?

I'm gonna lean heavily on the fact that I was born skeptical and I'll believe it when I see it. However, again, I am no weather expert and will freely admit that if Illinois is going to have a blizzard, late January is a prime time for it to happen.

We won't have to wait that many weeks to find out if Farmer's Almanac's prediction for Illinois comes true.
