
Unsolved Illinois Murder: Police Ask for Help After 2 Years
It's been more than 2 years now since a man in Illinois was found deceased and there is still no closure for the family. Illinois police are asking for the public's help in what they believe was a deliberate homicide.
It was May 19, 2023 when a man was found deceased in a rural area of Decatur, Illinois. The Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police say that they still don't know what happened to 51-year-old James E. Taylor. Here is what they know so far:
- James E. Taylor of Decatur, Illinois was last seen alive on May 10, 2023 around 6pm
- He was reported missing on May 12, 2023
- Those investigating the case believe his death was a homicide
“ISP is committed to justice and continues to review and pursue cold cases,” said ISP Lieutenant Chad Dumonceaux. “We encourage individuals who previously thought information they had was not relevant, or who may have been hesitant to come forward, to reach out to law enforcement. Small pieces of information can sometimes turn into big leads.”
There is a reward up to $2,500 being offered for information about James E. Taylor's death.
