If there's one thing I love about Quincy, it's how we always seem to come together to help our veterans. On June 30, you can support the Honor Flight and get a little sweet treat for yourself as well.

Eat a Cupcake, Support a Vet will be back once again this year at the County Market at 48th & Broadway beginning at 9:00 am. There will be over 2,000 cupcakes in the shape of a giant American flag available for purchase and all proceeds benefit the Great River Honor Flight.

I saw this flag last year and it was amazing to not only see all those cupcakes, but to see how many customers came out to support the cause.

At a dollar each, this flag will potentially raise $2,000 for Great River Honor Flight, which helps give area veterans a free trip to Washington, D.C. to see their memorials. A buck, that's it. So indulge a little and pick up one, two, heck get half a dozen. The display is a really something to see. Oh, and any veteran or active duty military personnel can stop by and get a FREE cupcake too!
