Why do you think so many people go crazy over all things from the 1980's? Whether you're talking about the music, the movies, the style or the toys, people just can't enough - even folks who weren't born yet or were too young to remember the 80s. For those of us who live through those years, it has to be a nostalgia thing, right?

I was 15 years old when the 80s ended, so there are certain parts of the pop culture that really hit me in the feels. A certain song, or movie can instantly transport me to a specific time and place and very vivid memories - both good and bad. Now that my kids are about the same age I was in the 80s, I find it interesting to think about what kinds of memories my parents had during that decade, the same way I'll think about the 2010s.

That seemingly universal love of the 'Decade of Decadence' is the reason why we do the Feel Good 80s Weekend each week. It's honestly one of my favorite things about the station, and it's always on in the G household.

I recently found this awesome video tribute to the 80s. During the time it takes to play "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from Starship (about 4 minutes), they cram as many pop culture references as they can in there. There are so many that each one comes and goes pretty quickly. My challenge to you is to see how many references you can name WITHOUT pausing the video. I promise you'll see some you don't know and you'll see some that you had totally forgotten about.

So, I give you permission to turn down the radio for just a few minutes as you take a trip down memory lane. But once you're done watching, you gotta promise me that you'll crank up the Feel Good 80's Weekend again. Deal?
