2 Missouri Bald Eagles Saved By Hero After Nest Fell Into River
This could easily have been a tragic ending, but thanks to a heroic man in Missouri, it's not. Two bald eagle chicks in Missouri were in peril when their nest fell into a river and was sinking. That's when a Good Samaritan jumped into action.
Great story shared today by the World Bird Sanctuary in Missouri. It's the tale of two bald eagle chicks in the Bonne Terre area that were in danger when their nest fell into the river. They say that Ray Settle was out preparing for storms that were headed toward his property when he noticed these two majestic birds in distress. He contacted the World Bird Sanctuary who then also jumped into action.
Ray provided the canoe for the World Bird Sanctuary rescuers to use to reach the eagle chicks. After their recover, medical exams revealed that both bald eagle chicks are in good health and did not suffer any serious injuries from the fall from their nest into the river. The World Bird Sanctuary will now be providing care for these eaglets until they are old enough and strong enough to fly back into the wild of Missouri where they belong.
