Bizarre Missouri Cabin Found Where None Should Be
I grew up in Missouri and heard stories of Mo-Mo and many odd things that many claimed were lurking in the deep woods of our state, but I've never heard anything like this - until now. There is a new bizarre tale of a cabin deep in the woods of Missouri where none should be.
I just came across a collection of Missouri stories on the Marked Terror YouTube channel and it includes some classic legends the Ghost Lights, the town at the bottom of Table Rock Lake, the tunnels beneath St. Louis, etc. Those are real stories derived from real places and things, but it's the final story that grabbed my attention. It's the story of a mysterious cabin that has appeared in the Missouri Ozarks. It's starts after the 17 minute mark:
I'll summarize a snippet from what they shared:
"In the deep woods of the Missouri Ozarks, there's a path that doesn't have a name...it doesn't show up on trail maps...but people find it anyway by accident...what they find at the end shouldn't be there...it's always described the same way...one-story log structure, small porch, two shuttered windows, no door, just walls...the first known account came from a hunter in 1972...he was tracking deer off trail when he came across the cabin...he circled it twice, no signs of entry...when he blinked it was gone..."
They go on to tell stories of hikers that see a cabin that eventually vanishes that causes their phones to act weirdly. It even claims that some hikers left a trail camera near it to observe...when they returned to get their camera, the footage was gone - all but 5 seconds which showed a shadow in the window.
There's just one problem with this interesting tale. I can't find any first-hand accounts or video. The Spooky Legends of Meramec, Missouri includes some stories similar to this, but not exactly. There are also some interesting creepy stories about the backwoods on the Missouri sub-Reddit. The strange sighting on Google Maps in the Marley Woods of southern Missouri is a must-see. All of this is fine and good, but until I can find some proof of this strange ghost cabin in Missouri, I remain skeptical that the robots are playing tricks on me - or are they?
