I had no idea that Betty White had Illinois and Chicagoland roots, I think it is pretty cool to see the town of Oak Park do something special like this to honor her memory for what would have been her 100th birthday, but also to have the foresight as to not overshadow MLK day which happens to fall on the 17th this year. I can only imagine there will be dozens and dozens of celebrations in Betty White's honor around the 17th of January this year, but to be at the one in Oak Park where she was born would be pretty cool.
