Hand-made Missouri Donut Crowned the Best in America

I have yet to meet a donut that I didn't like, but there is one that has risen above all others in America and it's a hand-made creation from a small bakery in Missouri based on a new national ranking.

One of the most vivid memories of my childhood growing up in Hannibal, Missouri was a small donut place downtown called The Pastry Box. When my mom or dad would take me along for a donut trip, there was an overwhelmingly awesome donut smell that would invade your nasal passages the moment you opened the door to that place. I won't mention how many years ago that was, but suffice it to say it was before Jimmy Carter was President.

That donut memory is why a new ranking from Love Food got my attention. They just ranked the best donuts (or is it doughnuts?) in America and the top spot comes from a St. Louis, Missouri bakery. It's Vincent Van Doughnut on 1072 Tower Grove Avenue.

Their Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate doughnut was crowned the best donut in America in this new ranking. Their glazed square is also worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

There are a multitude of donuts in the St. Louis area so for Vincent Van Doughnut to be chosen as not just the best donut creation there, but also in America is quite a bakery achievement.
